Santa Clara 1728 is an 18th-century palace, renovated into a design-led sanctuary consisting of 6 suites. It is quite possibly the most breathtaking and beautiful place I’ve had the privilege to stay in. Despite feeling luxurious, romantic, and out of the ordinary, it still felt like home. It was all in the details–the warm reception, the offerings of refreshments throughout the day, the attention given at breakfast, the transportation, the gorgeous and unique floral arrangements throughout the property–it all made me feel like we were distinguished guests. And of course, the interiors and the furnishings would make any designer’s or architect’s heart flutter. It was just awe-inspiring.
Even to this day, I think of this place a lot. Not about any one thing in particular, but everything. It’s the feeling of home I felt, yet it was so much more than that. It’s romantic in every sense of the word. It’s modern and minimalist, yet carries elements of the old from the archways to the enormous paintings and gold frames.
If you couldn’t tell, this is one place I definitely dream of going back to some day. Either that or visiting one of the other 4 properties created by Silent Living, the family behind Santa Clara 1728.
