A lovely light tea perfect for autumn or winter. It’s inspired by my mom who made Chinese-style pear tea for me back then with Asian pears from our backyard pear tree. I like to make this tea when I have a lonely, overripe Asian pear that’s been sitting in the fridge for a while. The hot tea also has dried jujubes (Chinese dates), ginger, and cinnamon for additional health benefits and flavor. My mom is always adding jujubes to chicken soup when she makes it for them. She claims that the jujubes are good for women’s health and immunity.
You can find dried jujubes in larger Chinese or Korean supermarkets. Otherwise you can buy them online. When it comes to purchasing dried ingredients to make Chinese teas or soup, I usually prefer Dragon Herbs.
